Over the years I have developed a love for personal fitness which evolved into teaching group fitness classes and I have been teaching group exercise classes since 2005; with multiple certifications over the years including BODYSTEP, BODYPUMP, BODYFLOW, ZUMBA, SH’BAM, and RPM. These certifications as well as attending the CanFitPro Conference annually have allowed me to maintain my Fitness Instructor Specialist status and continuously grow my knowledge within the fitness industry.
I believe in the promotion of health and fitness and inspiring my clients and members to live more hopeful and energetic lives. This is why my fitness classes, physiotherapy and massage therapy services work so well together. All fitness classes are designed to keep you moving your body in the comfort of your own home with minimal need for equipment; allowing for a more affordable home gym. It is important to target all areas of physical activity: strength, flexibility and endurance, for a well-rounded approach to a healthier lifestyle.

Over the years I have wanted to offer a group exercise program that would allow clients that were less mobile to begin moving their bodies – becoming stronger, more flexible and improving their endurance to physical activity. So, I designed a program called SIT & BE FIT.

This is a 45 minute VIRTUAL class designed for those who want to start moving their bodies more but have difficulty standing for prolonged periods of time. Maybe you have been sedentary a long time, maybe you have underlying health concerns or experience chronic pain, or maybe you struggle with balance. The exercises in this class are designed around the use of a chair. We use the chair to sit and perform strengthening exercises for the upper body, back and core and perform standing leg exercises with the option of using the chair for added stability. Upper and lower body conditioning is obtained with the use of a band and sometimes the option to choose hand weights instead. This class strengthens major muscle groups of the body and we always finish the class with a stretch when the body is nice and warm.

Equipment Needed:
a chair, an exercise band (both long and single loop styles), optional light hand weights, and sometimes a small ball (size of 5 pin bowling ball- AKA pilates ball).

Membership Price

$50/month for live classes

$15/month for recordings only

Classes are offered 3x/week:

Mondays @ 1:00 pm
Wednesdays @ 9:30 am
Fridays @ 1:00 pm

**Recordings for past classes are included in your monthly membership if you choose to attend the live-virtual classes.

Individual or Group Classes

Proactive Fitness and Physio also offers in person or virtual 1:1 or 1:many personal fitness classes designed specifically to you or to a group of people looking to achieve the same goal. These classes are offered at 30 / 45/ 60 minute increments and are catered specifically to the individuals movement goals or to the collective group. This option is great for those who want to workout as a group of friends or those who prefer a more individualized program. The advantage of doing a workout with a group of friends is that it lowers the rate per person and you also get to socialize with one another at the same time.

Class Prices

$30 for a 30 minute class
$45 for a 45 minute class
$60 for a 60 minute class
